JDS Mining and Energy, Inc. required marine surveying services to support repairs to the aging The Cowboy Smith for the upcoming sailing season. Their client required efficient transportation of equipment to a mine located near the Yukon River north of Carmacks YK, and needed expedited service to have the repairs performed before the river ice melted.

CMDL travelled to the site in January and in spite of the very cold conditions completed the task of performing a hull thickness, general condition, and safety equipment survey, with the report being issued earlier than the agreed deadline.
CMDL has experience in serving clients in Canada’s North and are well aware of the unique challenges involved such as shallow draft river vessels and remote and rural operations.
